Rebecca O. Perea

Rebecca O. Perea died on Saturday, November 15, 2025 surrounded by loving family at her home in Avondale, AZ. She was primarily cared for by her daughter Debbie Perea, for 8 years before she passed away peacefully and comfortably.

Rebecca was born September 25, 1938 in Antonito, CO to Victor and Florinda Montoya (both deceased). She was the eldest of four children. On May 17, 1958 she married Ruben E. Perea (deceased). The couple shared 41 years of marriage and three children before her husband's passing. Rebecca was a wonderful mother and wife, a homemaker, and held numerous secretary jobs in Leadville, CO before moving to Evans, CO in 1988. She became a Grandmother in 1980, a Great-Grandmother in 1998, and a Great-Great-Grandmother in 2023. She was cherished by every generation of children and grandchildren. They all share in warm memories of her love, light, and laughter. She loved cooking meals for her family and always had homemade food on the stove for them and any company that came to visit.

Rebecca is survived by her two daughters, Gloria Mercado (Christopher) of Greeley, CO, Debbie Perea (Henry) of Avondale, AZ, and her son, Ruben Perea (Tina) of San Antonio, TX; her twin sister Dolores Martinez, and her Brother Victor Montoya - both of Colorado; seven grandchildren: Alicia Perea of Avondale, AZ; Tim Mercado (Molly), Sheila Dalton (John), Jessica Green (Dustin), Joseph Perea (Melissa), Jacqueline Youngwirth (Alex), and Jacob Perea - all of Colorado; ten great-grandchildren: Justine Zamarripa, Landon Macias, Scarlet Green, Camilla Green, James Perea, Anderson Green, Cecelia Dalton, Donovan Youngwirth, Matthew Dalton, and Tucker Youngwirth; and one great-great-grandchild: Osiris in 2023.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 17,2026 at Stoddard Funeral Home in Greeley, CO.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m.Monday May 18, 2026 at Stoddard Funeral Home, and Interment will follow and be held in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Greeley, CO. Reception to follow at 1:00 Stoddard Funeral Home
