Reuben Haberman of Greeley died December 21, 2010 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado. Reuben was born January 16, 1916 in Sutton, Nebraska to Henry and Ann Margaret (Dietrich) Haberman.
Reuben married Ruth M. Cundall on September 12, 1948 in Sutton. They moved to Greeley in 1953. Reuben was the co-founder of Tri-City Electric and J & H Electric. He retired in 1973. Reuben served in the U.S. Navy for a total of eighteen years. He served from December 1935 to December 1939. He re-enlisted in January 1942 and served in World War II until he was honorably discharged from active duty in October 1945, he then was enlisted with the Navy Reserve until 1953. He was proud of his service and his country.
Reuben was a family man who enjoyed fishing, hunting, house boating, woodworking and vegetable gardening. He and his wife enjoyed traveling on road trips together. During their travels they visited all forty-eight states in the continental U.S. and various parts of Canada. One of Reuben’s greatest accomplishments was being the caregiver for his daughter, sister and wife, Ruth.
Reuben is survived by his wife Ruth; daughter, Linda Rose (Mike) of Greeley; two sons, David L. Haberman (Sandy) of Bloomington, Indiana and Thomas R. Haberman (Marlene) of Greeley; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents; daughter, Diane; granddaughter Anjuli and numerous brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Monday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday at Stoddard Funeral Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
