Robert Michael “Bob” Cockerill of Windsor, Colorado died Sunday, 01/04/2015, at home in Windsor, CO. He was 69.
He was born in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Rev. Luman T. Cockerill and Geraldine S. (Speyers) Cockerill Wilbur. On October 3, 1986, he was united in marriage by his father to Patricia L. (Switzer) Cockerill in Denver, Colorado.
As the son of a Methodist minister, Mr. Cockerill lived for 22 years in seven towns in Oklahoma. As a draftee during the Viet Nam era he was stationed in Louisiana and Texas. Mr. Cockerill worked in Nebraska for one year; Arizona for 3 years; and the remaining years of his career and retirement in Colorado.
He received his Bachelors Degree in business from Oklahoma City University in 1967. Mr. Cockerill was in the US Army from 1967 to 1969. He worked as a business analyst for Honeywell for 8 years (from 1972 to 1980) and the State of Colorado for 18 years (from 1982 to 2000). Mr. Cockerill enjoyed being with his family, working on family genealogy and travel – he and his wife Pat traveled together to over a dozen foreign countries.
Survivors include his wife Pat, a daughter, Chelle Pfeifer, a son, Tyson Cockerill, a step-daughter, Michelle Pfeifer, a step-son, Brett Muck, ten grandchildren, Tyler, Shelby, Summer, Keaton, Raymond, Thomas, Katelyn, Gabriella, Victoria and Christopher, a sister, Evelyn A. Evans, brother-in-laws, John Switzer and Bob Switzer, sister-in-law Valerie Switzer, son-in-laws, Dean Pfeifer, and Mike Pfeifer, a daughter-in-law, Heidi Cockerill, two step-brothers Reuben and Linn Wilbur, an aunt Meribel Cockerill and many cousins and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 16th, 2015 at the Broomfield United Methodist Church at 1:00pm. 545 West 10th Ave., Broomfield, CO. The family invites you to join them for a reception following the service at the church.
