Robert “Bob” Eugene Marth, 88, of Loveland, passed away on March 19, 2016. Bob was born on December 16, 1927 in Broken Bow, NE to Henry and Carrie (Simonson) Marth. He spent his childhood in Broken Bow, graduating from high school in 1945. Shortly after high school, Bob was drafted into the Army. He married Carrie Blakeman in 1951, while he was in the Army. They were married for 64 years. They moved to Kimball, NE in 1955 and on to Ft. Morgan, CO in 1966. In 2012 they moved to Loveland to be closer to their children and to Bob’s favorite donuts.
Bob retired from Schlumberger Well Service after 32 years. Then he and Carrie Jo spent more than three decades doing what they loved to do. They spent winters in Las Vegas and summers traveling to Branson, to Carrie’s Does conventions, to reunions with his Army buddies, and to every state in the union. Bob loved to play golf and to garden, to play bridge and poker. He was a member of the Elks Club in Ft. Morgan. He drew pictures instead of writing notes, and made up his own words to songs. Bob had a quick wit and a wry humor, which delighted his family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife, Carrie Jo Marth, of Loveland; daughters Ann Lyons of Greeley, CO, Lois Marth (Mary Ann Domico) of Loveland, CO, and Barbara (Dave) Barnett of Greeley, CO; grandchildren Brad (Kim) Barnett, Carrie (Randy) Pfost, Spencer Lyons and Elyse Lyons; and four great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Allnutt Funeral Service in Loveland followed by a reception. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to the charity of your choice. Please view the online obituary, send condolences and sign the family guest book at www.allnutt.com.
