

Robert Calvin Lisle, 92 of Greeley, passed away August 1, 2016 at Fairacres Manor in Greeley. Robert was born July 28, 1924 to Edwin E. and Minnie May (Middlecoff) Lisle at Otis, Colorado, the youngest of 5 boys.
Robert attended school in Otis, CO, graduating in 1942. After graduation he joined the Naval Aviation Cadet program. He was sent too many bases for flight training, finally finishing in Corpus Christi, TX, and received his wings and commission of Ensign in 1944. He served until August 1945 in the South Pacific, taking part in the Invasion of Iwo Jima and Okinawa, flying a bomber from the Air craft carrier USS Randolph.
After returning to Otis he partnered with his brother in the purchase of a ranch north of Weldona, CO. They ranched there for the next 42 years.
He married Mary McCaffrey on April 20, 1947, having an enjoyable life of ranching, Square Dancing, and woodworking. He was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church, serving as Elder and Deacon.
After retiring the Lisle’s moved to Greeley. Over 5000 hours of volunteering at RSVP, UCCC, NCMC, First Presbyterian Church and the Greeley Senior Center were performed since moving to Greeley.
Robert is survived by his nephew, two nieces; and several nephews and nieces of Mary’s.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and brothers, Harland, Marvin, Clarence, and Willard
At his request, there is to be no funeral or memorial service. His ashes will be inurned in the columbarium of the Fort Morgan Presbyterian Church n Fort Morgan, CO.
