

He was raised on a farm west of Lucerne, CO, and lived on the farm for about 74 years before moving into Greeley in 2000. He raised sheep, corn, sugar beets and beans.
Bob attended the Buell School and was the first class to attend all grades from 1st through 8th. He graduated from Greeley High School in 1943. Robert enlisted in the Merchant Marines in 1944 and served as a seaman in both the Pacific and Atlantic theaters, returning home in 1946.
He married Dorothy Arlene (Wilhelm) on April 18, 1948 and had 2 children, Thomas Lee and Patti Sue. He later married Cleona (Speer) Goodwine on November 6, 1966.
Besides farming, he worked maintenance at the Monfort Packing Plant and for Rayburn Electric.
Bob was a member of the Greeley Elks, Farm Bureau, Swedish Club, The American Legion and Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Greeley.
He enjoyed golf, dancing, hunting, fishing, camping, target shooting, archery, western books, and movies, and was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and the Rockies. Bob enjoyed volunteering as a Civilian Deputy Sheriff with the Weld County Sheriff’s Department, he loved to celebrate Independence Day and attend the Greeley Independence Day Parade every year except when serving in the Merchant Marines. He was proud of his 88 year attendance record.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Patti Sue; his beloved wife, Cleona; and his parents, Harry and Gladys.
He is survived by his son Thomas (Susan) of Greeley; step-daughter Nancy (Bill) Adams of Greeley; step-son Danny (Jody) Goodwine of Greeley; four grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Grace Ann Ullrich of Maple Falls, WA, two nieces, one nephew and their families and several cousins.
Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church . Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
