Ronald “Ron” Henry Kauffman, 74, of Greeley passed away Monday, September 29, 2025. Born in Greeley, He was the son of the late Herman and Luella Kauffman. Ron graduated from Valley High School in 1969.
Ron married the love of his life Patty on June 29, 1973. They did everything together from water skiing to snowmobiling to opening restaurants. Ron had many careers, from selling for Shamrock for 25 years to opening multiple restaurants including his favorite, Ron’s 19th Hole, which he had for 17 years to getting back to his roots and farming. Ron was more than just an employee or a business owner, he was a people person. He loved getting to know people and make new friends. Him and Patty would always be out with friends doing whatever they could from golfing to camping and trips with friends. Ron was always up for an adventure. Not only was Ron a great husband he was a great friend and neighbor. He would take the time to help anyone along the way, whether it be plowing a neighbors drive or just lending a helping hand.
Not only was Ron a great husband and friend but he was also a loving dad to his four legged children. He loved his dogs and treated them like his kids, from Fluffy to Fawn to Rags and Max and of course there was Toby. They loved him and he loved them. Ron was also a big family man, he would never miss a family event. Whether it was a birthday, holiday, or just a get together he was more than happy to be there. You always knew when he arrived cause he would make an announcement, whether it be saying “hey buckwheat” or just his contagious laugh and big hug. Ron and his buddies would meet up every week day for their morning coffee at Wendys to discuss the happenings in the world.
Ron did not know a stranger and he was happy to welcome anyone into his home. He took great pride in his home, yard and everything he owned. You didn’t dare get sand in his boat or mess up his yard, unless you were a nephew or great niece/nephew, then it was ok. More important than what he did or had in life was the person he was and the people he impacted with his cheerful smile, loving demeaner and joyful laughter.
Ron is survived by his wife Pat, brothers George (Teri) Kauffman, Calvin Kauffman, Sister in laws Evelyn (Duane) Scheller, Lari Fabrizius and numerous nieces and nephews.
