Rosella Mae Ryan, a beloved resident of Greeley, Colorado, passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on January 7, 1939, in Redfield, South Dakota, Rosella was a cherished daughter of the late Theodore Feldsien and Mary Lutter.
During her early life, Rosella attended a nun-led boarding school during her high school and college years. During this time, she stayed with the Lemon family, serving as a nanny to ten children. She went on to receive a BA in history, science, and elementary education.
Rosella worked as a teacher in Minnesota before moving to Colorado, where she met her future husband, Stanley H. Ryan, and his two-year-old son, Vincent. Rosella and Stanley married on May 28, 1966, and welcomed their daughter, Denise, a year and a half later.
Rosella was known as "everyone's mother" and was a professional volunteer. She had a passion for cooking, gardening, dancing, singing, sewing, and painting. She played the organ while Stanley played the guitar. Rosella loved life, her faith, her family, and everyone who crossed her path. She was a proud Franciscan.
Her notable accomplishments include winning the science fair, participating in 4-H, teaching Girl Scouts, and founding Birthright in Loveland. She was also the SFO for a five-state region.
Rosella is survived by her son, Vincent Ryan; her daughter, Denise (Ryan) Keefauver; her brothers, Eugene Feldsien and Robert Feldsien; her sister, Patricia Feldsien; her sister, Susan (Feldsien) Mlynczak; and her grandchildren, Kelson Ryan, Ashely Keefauver, Veronica Ryan, and Derek Keefauver. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley H. Ryan; her parents; her brother, Thomas Feldsien; her sisters, Janice Feldsien and Judith Feldsien.
