Roxanne Knapp became an Angel on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 6:26pm, in the comfort of her husband John and daughters Jamie, Kristy, and Sandy, at her home in Loveland, Colorado. She had been diagnosed with brain cancer in June of this year and has fought a great fight. She fought up until her last breath.
Roxanne was born on January 27, 1946 in Sioux Falls, Iowa and through the blessings of the Lord was adopted by La Vern and Virginia Hall. She lived in Des Moines, Iowa and when she was young, moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where she grew up and graduated from Fort Collins High. She spent her summers at the family cabin in the Poudre Canyon learning to shoot, hunt, fish and being with her family.
She met her husband John in Fort Collins where they soon moved to Missouri where they raised their family. They lived in Missouri for 15 years and moved back to Colorado after buying the Widow McCoy Restaurant in Loveland, Colorado in 1991. Their family soon followed. All of them at one time or another helped in the family restaurant. Roxanne was very dedicated to the restaurant in which her and her husband John were very successful. They owned the restaurant for 18 years and sold it in 2009 so that they could retire and enjoy their hard work. They have a home in Arizona and enjoyed friends and outdoor activities there. They loved to travel around the country, having many wonderful trips with friends and making memories.
She loved life! She loved her family! She loved her friends! She was so full of life and giving of herself to others. She loved to give advice because she cared so much about people, her family, her friends. She wanted everything good for everyone. She always was willing to help and be there when you needed her. She never faltered. She always did what she said. She loved her children and looked after them all no matter what. She loved to shop! She loved to find a good deal. She loved the Lord!
She leaves behind her beloved husband John, her daughters Sandra Lee Hill, Kristine Kay Hill and Randy Bizelli, and Jamie Lyn Bousquet and husband Daniel Bousquet all of Loveland, Colorado. Brother Alan Hall of East Dundee, Illinois.
She also leaves behind her blended family children, Sheila Knapp, Kevin Knapp, Cindy Rees, and Richard Knapp all of Loveland, Colorado. Also her grandchildren Melinda Lyn Lafollette Johnson of Liberty, Missouri, Monica Leigh Miller of St. Joseph, Missouri, Lindsay Ryan Gibbs of Fort Collins, Colorado, Lauren Alexandria Gibbs of Berthoud, Colorado, Joy Knapp of Loveland, Colorado, Dustin Knapp of Loveland, Colorado. Great grandchildren Cecila Velarde, Samuel Velarde of Loveland, Colorado, Wyatt Challman, Gunner Challman, Ryker Challman of Berthoud, Colorado. Piper Johnson, Jase Johnson of Liberty, Missouri. She was a loving mother, wife, and friend and she will be deeply missed. She was loved dearly by many.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Pathways Hospice, Bree, Sarah and all of the others who helped care for her over the last 3 months. We will be forever grateful for the kind, gentle care you have given her…and us.
The visitation is from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Allnutt Funeral Home in Loveland Colorado. The funeral service will follow the next day at 2:00pm on Friday, December 30, 2016, also at Allnutt Funeral Home. The burial will be at Loveland Cemetery.
