She was born September 24, 1942, in Jackson, Louisiana to Grover Cleveland DeLaune and Martha (LeBlanc) DeLaune. She married Ronnie Asmus Oct. 2, 1964 in Prairieville, Louisiana.
Sandra grew up in Louisiana and perfected her southern charm. After graduating from high school in 1960, she moved to Colorado where she attended the University of Colorado Extension in Denver. One exceptional weekend, she went on a date with Ronnie and soon after became his lovely bride. A few years after giving birth to daughter Rhonda, the family moved north to Greeley where they settled and then welcomed daughter Sydney.
Sandra was lovingly known by friends and family as a true "domestic diva" and a "master shopper". Her passions included playing tennis and bridge, discovering and collecting antiques, and creating warm, welcoming gatherings. She had an exceptional talent for hosting with grace and style in her beautifully designed home.
She also was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic church and the Greeley Chapter of Questers, a non profit organization dedicated to the study, conservation and preservation of historical objects for the benefit of today and tomorrow.
Sandra is survived by her daughters Rhonda (Bill) Dudley of Estes Park, and Sydney Hageseth (Mike Rice) of Windsor; grandchildren Patrick West, Taylor (Raquel Graef) Dudley, Tucker (Hannah) Dudley; Hannah, Hadley and Harper Hageseth; great grandson Dax Dudley; brother, Charles DeLaune of San Lorenzo, California as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, her parents, and five siblings: Marie Braud, Louise Cox, Ruth Wilson, Edward DeLaune and Harold DeLaune.
A private family burial will be held at a later date for Sandra to be laid to rest with Ronnie.
The family wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Memory Care team at Water Valley Good Samaritan Society in Windsor and Bloom Health/Hospice - you have been amazing to all of us.
