Socorro J. Moreno of LaSalle died Monday, July 18, 2011. She was born on October 15, 1928 in Nuevo Mundo, Coahuila Mexico to Carlos and Emilia Jaramillo.

She grew up in Colorado and on August 20, 1955 she married Martin Villanueva Moreno in Greeley. She was a loving homemaker, a great wife, mother and grandmother. She was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, dancing, singing and telling stories. She gave her children lots of love and taught them the value of life. Family celebrations were important to her because it was a way to stay connected with each other.

Socorro was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church. She enjoyed going to church and was a faithful woman of God. She was compassionate and helped others in need. She was loved by the community.

She is survived by her husband, Martin V. Moreno; daughters, Martha (Gabriel) Gutierrez, Virginia (Paul) Trinidad, Doralia (Francisco) Cortez, Alma (Juan) Arias, and Maria Elena (Alvin) Roybal; sons Amalio (Jovita) Ramirez, Adrian (Teresa) Ramirez and Richard Moreno; 25 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, also survived by 2 sisters and 6 brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Emilia Jaramillo; 2 children, Esidra and Jaime Jose, 1 sister and 2 brothers.

Visitation 4-6 p.m. Wednesday followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 6 p.m. at Our Lady Of Peace Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
