

Sue moved to Greeley and grew up attending University Schools where she was very active in sports, earning four letters. She graduated from West High school and went on to attend a year at UNC, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority. She married Robert Curry in 1985 and they had two children, Robert “Boz” and Nicole Curry. She later married Don Fillmore, in 1989, and they had a son, Timothy Fillmore. She moved to Pueblo, living on a ranch where she trained and bred quarter horses, where she received multiple prestigious awards for her work.
Sue returned to Greeley in 2000 and worked for Weld Schools District Six and then started her own business, Independent Career Development, helping adults with disabilities find job placement and transitioning into their new careers.
She enjoyed horseback riding, being outdoors, her granddaughter, dogs and foster-raising animals.
Sue is survived by her mother, Charlotte Benich, Greeley, CO; children Nicole Curry, Robert “Boz” (Page) Curry, Greeley, CO, and Timothy Fillmore and his father, Don Fillmore, Pueblo, CO; sister Cheri Todd, Greeley, CO; brother Robert (Tonya) Benich, Greeley, CO; granddaughter Shylee; niece Tiffany and her son Kane; and nephews Thomas and William (Cierra) Benich.
She was preceded in death by her brother Tim; and her father Thomas Benich.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Allnutt Macy Chapel, 702 13th St., in Greeley.
