

Tim Bretz, 38, of Greeley, died September 12, 2012. Timothy Robert Loren Bretz was born September 12, 1974 to Robert L. and Judy C. (Bright) Bretz in Julesburg, Colorado. Tim was raised and schooled in Sterling, Colorado. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1993. After graduating Tim attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling.
Tim moved to Greeley in 1997 and worked for Amen Oilfield Services, Fisher Lawn Care and Medicine Wheel Finishing. Tim was a perfectionist with an outstanding work ethic. He began his career with Hensel Phelps in 2001 as a commercial carpenter. During his eleven years with Hensel Phelps, Tim gained many friendships.
Tim married the one and only true love of his life, Lois Rae Sweet on August 19, 2000 at the Milliken Presbyterian Church. Tim's greatest passion was his wife and three sons. He loved the outdoors; camping and fishing with his family and friends. Peacemaker, optimistic, admirable and honest are just a few of the characteristics that describe Tim's warm and caring nature. He was always there when needed and would give the shirt off his back to anyone. The smile Tim carried was a sincere reminder that he found the good in everything and everyone. He will be deeply missed by many.
Tim is survived by his wife Lois; three sons, Tyler, Trevor and Tanner Bretz; mother, Judy Bright of Fort Collins; father, Robert Bretz of Sterling; four brothers, Adam Dickson of Fort Collins, Jerry Bretz of Fort Collins and Richard and Robert Bretz of Sterling; nephews, Wesley, Cody and Jake Dickson of Sterling; grandfather, George Bright of Sterling; mother-in-law, Linda Sweet of Greeley; grandfather-in-law, Edward Sweet of Greeley; brother-in-law, Lloyd Sweet of Greeley; dear and special friends, Lori Schmidt, Wally and Mandi Baca, Denny Stephens, Tim Chambers, Stacy Moser and daughter Kayla, Scott and Shante Michaels, Shelly Lane and son Derek Solberg, Don, Lisa and Gunnar Ponzer of Greeley, Joyce Sobeski and Rick Tiefert both of Greeley and the Ken and Sophie Aragon and family of Evans. Tim is preceded in death by grandmothers Phoebe Bright and grandma Bretz; best man and teacher, Frank Hunter.

Celebration of Life will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Inurnment Sunset Memorial Gardens. A reception and gathering will be held following services at The New Plantation, 3520 11th Avenue, Evans.
