

Timothy Martin Amaya, 46, of Greeley, died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital in Johnstown. Timothy was born on April 12, 1970 in Greeley to Ray Sr. and Dora (Mascarenas) Amaya.
Timothy grew up in Kersey, graduating from Platte Valley High School in 1988. He attended Aims Community College, earning his Associate’s degree, then transferred to UNC, where he earned his Bachelor’s in Science in Biology with his minor in Spanish.
Timothy suffered an aneurysm when he was 23 years old. He worked for Kodak of Colorado and later at Star Tek. His health prevented him from many activities but he was a great help to his parents, especially in caring for the yard.
Timothy enjoyed photography and computers. He loved watching his nieces and nephew in their sports activities, which he always attended. He loved spending time with his family, especially around the holidays. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tease. His companions were his two Chihuahuas, Bruiser and Baby.
Timothy is survived by his parents, Dora and Ray Amaya, Sr. of Greeley; three brothers, Raymond Amaya, Jr. (Leonarda) of Evans; Paul Amaya (Mollie) of Evans and Steve Amaya (Karina) of Greeley; six nephews, Raymond Dean Amaya III of Greeley, Jessie Daniel Amaya of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Isiah of Evans, Stephen Jovan Amaya of Greeley, Julius Myles Amaya of Greeley and Jordan Ramon Amaya of Greeley; three great-nieces, Gabriela, Abigail and Raven and one great-nephew, Jaoquin.
Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Kersey Community Church.
