

Verda Faye Andrews went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2024 at The Lodge in Greeley, Colorado. Verda was born on April 22, 1946. She was adopted and became the daughter of loving parents Ernest and Alene Root. She grew up and lived her entire life in the Greeley area.
Verda spent a few of her younger years working at the Monfort packinghouse until her accident with the train in December of 1979.
Verda (& Greg Shannon) had two sons, Richard and Robert. A few years later, she was married to Rosco Morrow and they had Terry. In 1979, she married Robert Andrews and they remained married until his death in June of 2021. They adopted both Edward and Dante during this time. Verda spend most of her life caring for children.
Verda spent a lifetime enjoying her country music, her trips to Mexico with friends each year, time at her time share in Vail, CO, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed her yard and her beautiful flower gardens. Verda was known for having the best variety of candy throughout her house. Shopping, collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia and collecting stamps were some of her favorite pastimes.
Verda was preceded in death by her brother, Loren Root, her parents Ernest and Alene Root, her son Richard Shannon, her grandson Jonathan and her husband Robert Andrews.
Survivors include Robert Dean (Denise) Shannon of Evans, CO, Terry (Denice) Morrow of Bowdon, North Dakota, Yvonne (John) Baker of Gilcrest, CO, Gary Garihan of Greeley, CO, Edward Andrews of Greeley, CO and Dante Andrews.
Grandchildren are John Baker, Melissa Baker, Dwight (Hayley) Morrow, Desiree Morrow, Tierra Morrow, Treyson Morrow, Kaylee Carbajal, Kyndall Shannon, and Joshua Shannon.
She had nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life will be Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:00 am at Stoddard Funeral Home in Greeley, CO. Luncheon to follow.
