Wendy Jayne Sporrer

Wendy was born on June 18,1957 in Chicago, IL to Lynn (Baker) Reimnitz and Walter "Bud" Wolf. As a baby she moved to Huron, SD and attended school in Huron until her sophomore and junior when she attended Geneva High School in Illinois. She returned to Huron for her senior year and graduated from Huron High school in 1975.

Wendy was a hard worker and started at an early age babysitting. Her first formal jobs were at Dairy Queen (age 15), McDonalds and Kmart. In 1984 she started at Kodak (later Carestream) in Windsor, CO where she retired on April 1, 2019 after 34½ years.

For 40 years she shared her life with her soul mate, David Martinez. They married in April of 2006. They traveled all over the country and a couple of trips to Mexico.

Frequently they headed to South Dakota and Illinois to spend time with family. They loved sharing their life events with family and friends. Their son, Nathan, was born on April 21, 1989. He was her pride and joy, she loved being a mom. When granddaughter Macie came along in 2023 she discovered her true passion, she was born to be a grandma. Macie gave her the will and courage to fight the cancer as long as possible. Macie is full of love, laughter and fun just like her grandma.

Wendy was also a loving mom to her dogs, Hank and Harley and they have been her great (spoiled) companions'. She had a passion for the Broncos and spent every football season glued to the TV and more than one swear word was known to pass her lips when things didn't go well and cheers when they did. She always said she was born to shop, and her motto was "shop until you drop"! She loved gardening (playing in the dirt), all FLOWERS, and cooking. No one ever went hungry at her house, and she always had the candy jar full and all kinds of snacks.

She is survived by her husband David, of Windsor, son Nathan Martinez, (Caley Lunsford) and granddaughter Macie Martinez of Greeley, CO. Dad (Walter Wolf) of Geneva, IL Stepdad Larry Reimnitz of Huron, SD. Mother-in-law Virginia Martinez of Windsor CO. Brother-in-law Ronnie Martinez of Milliken CO. Sister-in-law Mabel (Reyes) Lopez of Milliken CO. Stepchildren, Renee (Bert) Hernandez, Laramie WY, Nicole (Choco) Garcia, Milliken, CO, Lori Bernhardt, Los Angeles, CA and David (Shawnna) Martinez of Milliken, CO. Brothers Kelley Wolf of Huron, SD, Blaine Smith (Jolene) of Sioux Falls, SD, sisters Liz Smith of Huron, SD, and Jolene Gardner (Jeff) of Sycamore, IL.

Wendy loved spoiling (hence the shopping) her seven step-grandchildren, five step-great grandchildren, one nephew, four nieces, two great-nephews, and three great-nieces.

Preceded in death by her grandparents, mom, aunt and uncles, and 2 cousins.

A celebration of life will be held April 18, 2026 at 11:00 am at Allnutt Macy Chapel, 6521 W 20th Street, Greeley, CO 80634.
