Wesley grew up in Salida, Colorado, and graduated from Salida High School in 1962. After high school, Wesley served in the Army with one tour in Vietnam as a military policeman.
Following his time in the Army, Wesley moved to Elkhart, Kansas, where he worked in agriculture. He met the love of his life and married Connie Barnes on August 20, 1970. Not long after getting married, Wesley and Connie welcomed their first son, Preston. After welcoming two more sons, Spencer and Michael, they moved to Lamar, Colorado, in 1983 where Wesley continued to work in agriculture. Their lives revolved around their boys and their high school activities.
Towards the end of the 90’s Wesley and Connie moved around and finally settled in Evans, Colorado. They lived there for many years and grew to love the area. Wesley was a member of the Elks Club in Greeley and often golfed in his free time.
After the passing of his beloved wife, Connie, Wesley began to travel with his sister, Janet. They visited many places and he never forgot to bring souvenirs home for his granddaughter, Ella. They travelled all over the United States and also to Cuba. He enjoyed travelling to Estes Park and visiting Rocky Mountain National Park, which he did many times with friends and family.
Wesley kept himself busy and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, fishing, golfing, and he loved classic cars and trucks.
He is survived by his sons Preston Craig of Louisville, CO, Spencer (Mary) Craig of Colorado Springs, CO, and Michael (Dawn) Craig of Aurora, CO; sister Janet Kurtz; and granddaughter Ella Craig.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife Connie.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 23, 2021 from 1-5:00 P.M. at the Greeley Elks Lodge, 3061 W. 29th St., Greeley, CO 80631.
