Bill Mattenklodt, 85, of Greeley, passed away July 3, 2014, at Centennial Health Care Center in Greeley. Bill was born February 16, 1929 in Faribault, MN, to John and Marie (Jeffery) Mattenklodt. He married Sylvia Dee Powell in 1951 in Vista, CA.

Bill lived in Greeley for over 45 years. He also lived in Nebraska and California, working as a painter. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1950-1953 at Camp Pendleton and was honorably discharged.

Bill belonged to the Masonic Lodge and Masonic organizations, and Occidental Lodge #20. He liked to hunt and fish and enjoyed reading.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Mattenklodt, Greeley, CO; children, Marie (Larry) Burton, Wasilla, AK, Teresa (Rodney) Mellott, Arvada, CO, Sylvia (Michael) Godson, Greeley, CO, and William “Billy” (Kathy) Mattenklodt, Jr., Greeley, CO; Grandchildren, Tonya, Rachael, Lindsey, Michael, Adam, Daniel, James, Luke, David, William “Willy” and Matthew; Great-grandchildren, Ashley, Drake, and Madelyn.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheri Lee Mattenklodt; brother, John Mattenklodt; and by his parents.

A viewing will be held one hour prior to service with services beginning at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. Interment at Linn Grove Cemetery.
