Allen worked at Strausburger Trucking and recently retired from Walmart Transportation after 22 years of service. After retiring he worked part-time for CoAlliance at Stilesville.
Survivors include: his wife of 51 years Julie (Cook) Buchanan, Daughters, Amy Clark (Jason), Melanie (Chan) Mangrum, and Brooklynn Buchanan. Grandchildren: Mackenzie Miranda, Madison Fenneman, Ashlyn Jones, Brant Mangrum, Jake Mangrum, Landon Clark, Brinlee Clark, Boston Clark and Aiden Mangrum. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren: Brayson, Bryton, Braxton, and Sawyer. He is also survived by a sister, Venita Ray and his mother-in-law, Norma Cook.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Limedale. The children there flocked to him. Maybe because he always had candy in his pockets.
Visitation will be at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home on Wednesday September 29th from 4 to 8 pm and service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 30th.
