Audrey T Hammond

Audrey T. Hammond, age 93, passed from this life, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 11, 2020. Audrey was born November 6, 1926, to Lonzo Taylor and Flora (Mink) Taylor, in Reading, Ohio. She was raised in Ohio and Kentucky, before moving to Indiana. She went to her first years of High School in Pulaski County, Kentucky and graduated from Reelsville High School, in Putnam County, Indiana, on April 19, 1946. Audrey’s work history in Greencastle includes, J. C. Penney & Co., IBM, Prudential, and her daughter’s Law Office. Throughout her lifetime, Audrey had a servant’s heart. She has prepared meals and provided lodging for countless Missionaries and their families. She was a relentless giver of her time and money and culinary abilities to anyone she could assist. She loved Thanksgiving, largely because she was so very thankful for all of the Lord’s blessings. Audrey was without siblings. She is survived by her only child, Sharon L. Hammond, and several cousins, whom she adored, together with numerous friends. Audrey was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be sent to the Church at 3988 South County Road 300 West, Greencastle, Indiana 46135. In keeping with her request, Audrey’s funeral services will be held privately. The arrangements are being provided by Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home in Greencastle.
