Catherine Marie Rolfson

Catherine Marie Rolfson, 62, of Greencastle, Indiana passed away on August 3, 2025 at her home. Catherine was born on February 14, 1963 to Glenn Rolfson and Mary Delores Krug in Santa Monica, California.

Catherine graduated from Danville High School in 1981 and soon after enrolled in the Surgical Technician program at Ivy Tech in Indianapolis. Upon completion of the program, Catherine worked at Methodist Hospital for nearly a decade before taking on other roles professionally. Later in life (2013), Catherine reconnected with her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Fred Stranger of Danville, eventually leading to their engagement and loving life together. In recent years, Catherine attended St. Paul's Catholic Church in Greencastle.

Catherine thoroughly enjoyed painting, crafting, music, photography, gardening, (thrift) shopping and all things genealogy. She was kind to anyone she met and fiercely loyal to family and friends. Catherine is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Mary and is survived by her fraternal twin sister, Mary Ellen Rolfson of Greencastle, William Glenn Rolfson (Brad) of Indianapolis as well as her nephew Leslie Michael Sotomayor (Kelsey) of Tulsa, OK; nieces Katherine Grace Fields (Russell) of Marion, IN and Olivia Sarai Denny (Noah) of Danville, IN.

Visitation with the family begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church located at 202 E. Washington Street, Greencastle, IN 46135. The funeral mass begins at 11 a.m., immediately followed by a mercy meal. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Society of St. Vincent De Paul or Hendricks County Humane Society.
