Don E. Compton

Mr. Don E. Compton, age 65, of Greencastle, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2011.

Born October 12, 1946 in Moreland, KY, he was the son of William Clyde and Flossetta Pauline (Smith) Compton. He married Sandra (Pritchett) Compton on April 2, 1994 and she survives.

Don had worked at General Motors in Indianapolis from 1968 until his retirement in 2002. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the V.F.W. Post in Rockville, IN.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Paula (Christopher) Harmon of Greenwood and Jessica (Adam) Bowen of Noblesville; a stepson, James Bartlett of Indianapolis; brother, William (Carol) Compton Jr. of Avon; sister, Virginia (James) Griffin of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenneth Compton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Graveside services with military rites will be held at 3:30 pm at the Prairie Township Chapel Cemetery in Scotland, IL.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 am until time of service on Saturday.
