

Born May 1, 1937 in Putnam County, he was the son of Charles Marion and Jessadene L. (Cunningham) Cope. He married E. Joan (Oliver) Cope on February 21, 1958 and she survives.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran, having served during the Korean War.
Donald retired, after 22 years, from the Schneider Transport. He later drove a school bus for the North Putnam School Corporation. He was a member of the Fillmore Christian Church, Teamster Union, and a lifetime member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; children, Lydia Cope, Donald “Bud” (Sandra) Cope Jr., Debbie (Junior) Crowe, Steve (Debbie) Cope, Richard (Susan) Cope, Robert Cope, and Annette (Jason) Henshilwood; brothers, Bill Cope, Rick (Deb) Cope, and Chuck (Pam) Cope; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Norma Curran; daughter-in-law, Patti Cope; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Cooper.
A Celebration of Life with military honors will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home.
