Don was born on August 12, 1937 in Putnam County to Chester Ray Williams and Thelma Eileen Head Williams.
He retired from Olin Brass in Indianapolis. .
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Larry Ray Williams and Charles Wayne Williams; his wife, Jacqueline Ann Williams; and two brothers, Chester Wayne Williams and Thomas Dale Williams.
Surviving are a son, David B. Williams; his daughter, Catharine Slavens and husband Chad; a brother, Melvin “Gene” Williams and wife Rosemary; a sister, Marilyn Wools and husband Hubert; six grandchildren, Jake Alder Williams, Megan Marie Williams, Lane Michael Slavens, Braiden Slavens, Cole Slavens and Riley Slavens; and two great-grandchidren, Jesse Williams and Laylah Jane Cromwell.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 10 A.M. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, with Chaplain Steve Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
