Ellen Jane Long

Born September 6, 1925 in Fillmore, IN, the daughter of Frank and Lela Isabell “Izzy” (Sinclair) Hunter. She was a graduate of Fillmore High School “Class of 1943”.

Janie worked at First Citizens Bank for several years. She was a former member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ and was a member of Gobin United Methodist Church. She was a member of Kappa Delta Phi, Eastern Star, History Club, Mother’s Club ( Modern Mother’s Study Club), and volunteered with the Putnam County Hospital Guild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband John Richard Long.

Janie is survived by her children Janet Long Correll, Jerry F. (Lisa) Long, and Julie A. (Steve) Vanderbosch; grandchildren Josh (Krissy), Ben (Thuy), Maggie, Cody (Connor), Lindsey (Daniel), Katie, & Hannah; step grandchildren, Michael (Lori) & Gabrielle (Hayley); great grandchildren, Jaxon, Hallie, Ellis, & Everett; and her favorite son and daughter Maurice & Carolyn Butler.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Fillmore Cemetery. Burial will follow. Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
