Hazel Allen Singleton

Born December 22, 1919 in Johnetta, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Arch and Delia (Abney) Allen. She married William L. Singleton on April 12, 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1994.

Hazel was a homemaker, working alongside her husband on the family farm. She loved to cook, sew, garden, read, and care for her family. She was a lifetime member of the Bethel Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Revenna (Kenneth) Richardson of Clayton, Lucy (Darrell) Detro of Greencastle, son, Billy (Virginia) Singleton of Greencastle, and Rebecca (John) Fair of DeLand,FL; sister, Mildred Allen of Lafayette; son-in-law, David Cooper of Texas; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; four step great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Annalene Cooper; son-in-law Maynard Arnold; eight brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Rev Nathan Crouch officiating. Interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery, Fillmore, IN.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
