James Alfred Price

James Alfred Price, 89, of Greencastle passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Mill Pond Health Campus. James was born in Dabney, Kentucky on October 25, 1930, the son of Ira Thomas and Mary Stella (French), Price, and was a graduate of Eubanks High School in Kentucky. Mr. Price was a farmer for most of his life. He also sold farm equipment for many years. James was a long-time member of the Church of Christ in Greencastle, and a Past President and former member of Greencastle Rotary Club. Survivors include two sisters, Fylma Blanch Brewer, Lafayette, and Lois Irene Douglas, (Marvin), Greencastle; a daughter-in-law, Vinny Price, Coatesville; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Verna Lillian Price; and two sons, Tom Price and Jerry Price. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Evangelist Curtis Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
