Jerry DeWayne Vermilion

Jerry DeWayne Vermilion, 74, of Greencastle, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020. Born January 7, 1946 in Crawfordsville, he was the son of Wendell Shaw Vermillion and Nettie Oval (Duncan) Vermillion Pettit. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion. Jerry was an electrician with Vermilion Electric for several years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Greencastle. Jerry is survived by his son, Eric Vermillion & girlfriend, April Kunce; a daughter, Sherry Vermillion & boyfriend, David Pettit; brothers, Ronnie Vermillion and Danny Vermillion; a sister, Debbie (Steve) Burke; five grandchildren, Abigail Vermillion, Carter Vermillion, Antony Byrd, Charles “Joey” Byrd, Tessa Johnson; four great grandchildren, Travis Byrd, Lana Byrd, Paisley Johnson, Bentley Johnson. He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, and a brother, Steve Ray Vermilion. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, November 20, 2020 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home. Military honors will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery.
