Jessie H. Perdue

He was born on December 19, 1929 in Lafayette, Tennessee to Ezra Perdue and Gertha Cliburn Perdue. Jessie was one of seventeen children.

Jessie married Virginia Sanders on July 16, 1948, and she preceded him in death on May 16, 1991.

He was a retired union painter from Local 47 in Indianapolis. Jessie enjoyed entertaining with his music, hunting, and fishing. Most of all he enjoyed being with his family.

Jessie was also preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

Surviving are three sons, Jim Perdue and wife Sherry, David Perdue and wife Claudia Donald Perdue and wife Lisa; three daughters, Sheila Penturf and husband David, Sherrie Haynes and husband James all of Greencastle, and Carolyn Rumple and husband Andy of Indianapolis; several grandchildren, Cheryl Spears, Debbie Wainscott, Kim Kirby, Scott Perdue, Jennifer Hammond, Diane Perdue, Tiffany Perdue, Charlie Neese, Amber Neese, Emily (Brooks)Sutherlin, Sam Brooks, Ben Haynes, Nathan Haynes, Katie Haynes, Dustin Perdue, Ethan Perdue and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 23, 2012 at 1 P.M. at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, with Pastor Carl Coffey officiating. Interment will follow at Gosport Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 2 to 6 P.M. at the funeral home.
