John was born in Muncie, Indiana on June 13, 1952, the son of William and Audrey (Bostick) Brasher, and was a graduate of Muncie Central High School.
Mr. Brasher worked for many years with Youth Opportunity Center of Muncie.
Survivors include his wife, Karla Brasher; a son, John Brasher Jr., (wife-Gretchen); a step-daughter, Kellie Buis; two nephews, Leonard Dishman, and Steve Brasher; his father-in-law, Sam Goad; and several nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William Brasher Jr., and David Brasher; a sister, Flora Jane Mertz; and a mother-in-law, Uldene Goad.
The family will plan a memorial service at a later date.
