Born March 14, 1941 in Cloverdale, the son of Claude and Lena (Whalen) Monnett. He was a graduate of Cloverdale High School “Class of 1959”.
John served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Post 281, Cloverdale.
John had worked at Allison Gas Turbine in Indianapolis for 40 years, retiring as a plant manager in 1998.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Deanna Jean (Case) Monnett; brothers, Robert, Claude, Eugene, Lyle, Thomas and Melvin Monnett.
John was survived by his son, John W. (wife, Debbie) Monnett; daughter, Jill (husband, Mark) Monnett-Kelsey; and grandchildren Alex Kelsey and Brynn Kelsey.
A Celebration of Life will be held for John at 6:00 PM on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Cloverdale American Legion 501 S. Main St. Cloverdale, IN. 46120.
