Born September 25, 1928 in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Barlow and Effie (Brahnam) Whited and attended Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. She married Roy M. Stuart on September 2, 1950 and he preceded her in death on August 26, 1987.
Lois had been a proof reader with Construction Digest in Indianapolis and had owned and operated The Bac Shop in Greencastle. She had also worked at the IGA and Marsh Grocery stores, Greencastle.
Survivors include her sons, Bruce A. Stuart of Greencastle and Joseph E. (Carolyn) Stuart of Newnan, GA; a sister, Reatha Bertram of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Mike; parents; six brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
