She was born on September 30, 1934 in Lee County, Virginia, to Wentz A. Gilley and Ora N. Glass Gilley.
Margaret was a 1952 graduate of Greencastle High School. She retired from the City of Greencastle Utilities Department with over 30 years of service, where she served as office manager,
Her parents; her husband Noble; and two brothers, Fred Gilley and Bill Gilley preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughters, Miriam Asher and husband Fred of Rockville, Iris Cradick and husband Tim of Fillmore; two brothers, Charles Gilley and wife Betty of Greencastle and Robert Gilley and wife Kay of Greencastle; three grandchildren, James Asher and wife Debbie, Jeffrey Asher and companion Kerri, and Courtney Cradick; and eight great-grandchildren, Levi Asher, Hunter Asher, Kayla Evans, Skylar Cradick, Jeffrey Asher, Dalton Freyn, Jacob Short and Jordan Short.
A Memorial Service will celebrate Margaret’s life on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 7 P.M. at Hopkins – Rector Funeral Home, with Pastor Willie Best officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
