Born February 28, 1942 in Greencastle, the son of Clarence Robert and Madonna (Alspaugh) King. He was a graduate of Sarasota High School “Class of 1960”.
Phillip had worked at Walmart in the sporting goods department after his retirement from IBM, where he had worked for over 30 years. He was a member of the IBM Gun Club and IBM Bowling league having proudly bowled a 300 game.
He was an avid I.U. Basketball and Indianapolis Colts fan. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, bowling, woodworking and crafts.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters Colleen (Edwin) Cook and Marilyn (Bobby Wayne) Arnold.
Phillip is survived by his daughter Lisa (Donald) Torrence: son Josh (Kari) King; sister Bobbie Jean Arnold; grandchildren Christopher (Anna) Torrence, Amanda (Steve) Marshall, and Holden (Makenzie) King; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
