Roy L Rogers

He was born January 13, 1937 in Greencastle and he married Patsy E. (Swim) Rogers and she survives along with a son, Rick A. Rogers and very special love, Cheri Phillips, Greencastle, two grandchildren, Collette (Jonathan) Cope, Greencastle and Matthew J. Rogers, Texas, one great-great grandson, Oliver Cope, four siblings, Norman (Teresa) Rogers, Greencastle, Linda McKenna and June Werner, Florida, and Lee Rogers, Greencastle, several cousins, nieces, nephews, two sisters-in-law, Polly (Swim) Sullivan, Reelsville, Frieda (Swim) Petitt, Greencastle and a brother-in-law, James (Shirley) Swim ,Brazil.

He was preceded in death by his two year old son, David L. Rogers in 1965, his parents, Arthur and Louise (Higgins) Rogers, a brother, Ralph Rogers Sr., and a sister, Reta Jones.

He was a United States Veteran having served in the Marine Corps.

Roy loved horseback trail riding, camping, attending all kinds of auctions, taking care of his cows and horses, and just taking an afternoon drive on a nice day through the country.

The family would like to thank the women from the Horizon Hospice for all their care and compassion and the oncology department of Putnam Co. Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Neely officiating. Interment will follow at the Walnut Chapel Cemetery, Belle Union.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 16th at the funeral home
