Sharon Ann Hassler, 85, Greencastle, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Asbury Towers Retirement Community. Born January 10, 1936 in Greencastle, she was the daughter of Roy and Dorothy White (King).
She married Richard Hassler in 1954 where she helped him start Hassler Trucking. She later went on to work at Windbreaker in Brazil as a textile worker. After Windbreaker closed, she went on to work at CBS in Terre Haute until retirement.
She had a love of fashion, and that in turn created a love of shopping. She loved looking for the latest deals and could shop all day and late into the evening. She loved looking at all the different styles and wished she could have gone into the fashion industry to create her own designs.
Sharon was very passionate in her love for Jesus. She attended many services at various churches, but her favorite place of worship as a young lady was Big Walnut Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted child of God and encouraged her family to follow a path to Jesus.
Surviving are her three children, Rick (Jan) Hassler, Greencastle, Lonnie (Teresa) Hassler, Brownsburg, and Julee (Bryan) Looker, Logansport. She has one surviving brother, David White, Greencastle. She is survived by 10 grandchildren, Wendy, Bryan, Casey, Jonathan, Matthew, Kyle, Heath, Connor, Garrett, and Madison, as well as 18 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy, and her father, Roy, as well as her brother Roy Jr, and sisters, Mary Lou and Martha.
Services will be held 1:00 Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Schneider officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until time of service on Saturday.
