She was born October 11, 1925 in Dahn Germany and came to America in 1938. Having graduated from a technical high school in New York where she completed a millinery degree and was employed by the well-known bridal designer, John Frederick. Alice and her husband Burt moved to Greensboro in 1957 where both were employed in their own business for 13 years. Afterwards, Alice worked for Thalhimers which later became Hects where she was a supervisor in the Better Sportsware Department.
For years she volunteered for Blumenthal Jewish Home in Clemmons and for Greensboro’s Meals on Wheels program.
She was a sweet, kind and gentle lady who was loved by many people.
Her survivors are, Burt, her husband of 59 years; and their daughter Helene (Bobby) Speaks of Charlotte.
A graveside service was held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Hebrew cemetery with Rabbi Eliezer Havivi officiating.
