Allen Ray Sellars, 60, was welcomed to Heaven by his mother, brother, David and sister, Sheila on October 15, 2018. His life will be celebrated at 2 PM, Thursday, October 25 at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm chapel officiated by Reverend Gene Dean. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 1 PM.
Ray was born in Guilford County to Clyde Sellars and the late Alice Swaim Sellars. He was employed with Guilford Mills and worked as a brick mason with his father. His kind hearted nature and willingness to help others endeared him to his family, friends and co-workers. Ray could always be depended upon for support. He had a mischievous side as well and loved to cut up and joke with his friends. He loved to fish and was an avid NASCAR fan. He will be especially missed around the Thanksgiving table, his favorite time to be with family.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Alice Sellars of the home; father, Clyde Sellars of Greensboro; sisters, Brenda Black of Greensboro and Linda K. Sellars of Walnut Cove; a large extended family; and his precious feline companions, Angel and Charlie.
