She was a homeschool graduate who went on mission trips to Ecuador and Venezuela during high school. She loved missions and missionaries. She also loved children, especially those of her friends and family. Andrea was well known as a rescuer of animals in need of a loving home, including her beloved red-nosed pit bull terrier, Papi.
Andrea was predeceased by her grandparents Kenneth and Wanda Schimmel, and Bill King; her uncle John Winklepleck; her nephew Brent Dobbins, and her niece Ruthie Schimmel.
Andrea is survived by her parents, Keith and Kimberly Schimmel; five siblings: Konrad Schimmel (Jessica) of Hendersonville, Aaron Schimmel of High Point, Kaleb Schimmel of Raleigh, April Harden (Timothy) of Walkertown, and Kathleen Schimmel of Greensboro. She is also survived by her grandmother Annette Wildman and aunts Paula Winklepleck, Lorie King, Robin Dobbins, and Gina Kelly (Peter) as well as nieces Piper and Lydia Schimmel, nephew Kenton Schimmel and cousins Jessica Dobbins, Collin Wesley, and Ash Kelly. Many other relatives also mourn her passing and are too numerous to name individually.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, with Pastor Barry Darnell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 till time of service at the funeral home.
