Andrew F. Christie, Sr., of Liberty, North Carolina, age 87, US Army Retired, Veteran of WWII, Korean Conflict and Viet Nam, died Monday, November 5, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, North Carolina. Private services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2012.
Mr. Christie was born December 4, 1924 in Fall River, Massachusetts. Mr. Christie is survived by his wife of 69 years, Norma A. Christie; four children, Carole A. Young and husband David of Greensboro, North Carolina; Michael J. Christie and wife Katherine of Pembroke, Massachusetts; James K. Christie and wife Nancy of Farmingdale, New Jersey; and Arthur T. Christie and wife Mary Ellen of Benton, Pennsylvania. Mr. Christie was predeceased by sons Andrew F. Christie, Jr. and William S. Christie. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Christie would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on November 14, 2012.
