

Anita Haga Dyer, 84, of Greensboro, passed away February 5, 2025 following a long-term battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born March 13, 1940 in Parke County, Indiana to the late Harold Haga and Josephine Wigley Haga.
Anita was raised in Dana, Indiana and graduated from Dana High School in 1958. In 1961 she married Kenneth “Mike” Corthum in Terre Haute, Indiana. Subsequently, in 2002 she married Victor Dyer of Greensboro. Upon graduation from high school, she completed Hair School training in Terre Haute, Indiana and spent nearly 50 years serving others in a profession that she loved. She was creative and enjoyed decorating and craft work. Anita always welcomed others with kindness and a beautiful smile. She faced many hardships but took on life’s challenges with extraordinary courage. She approached life with an intense desire to be a good person with high morals and values. She was an avid music fan, particularly of Elvis Presley, whom she saw live in concerts 5 times. Anita was very devoted to her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them compete in sports. She attended various Methodist Churches and was an exceptionally strong believer.
Anita is survived by her husband of 22 years, Victor; daughter, Carrie Corthum Royal (Tony) of Greensboro; son, Michael Evan Corthum (Ashleigh) of Greensboro; stepson, Victor Scott Dyer (Vonda) of Lewisville, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Logan Maness (Jacob), Emily Corthum ( her fiancé, Carson Smith), Cole Corthum and Hayden Royal; great-grandson, Graham Maness; and step-granddaughters, Delaney and Avery Dyer.
Others family members include two sisters, Wandalene Bishop and Juanita Samford (deceased); brother, Harold “Junior” Haga (deceased); half-sisters, Freda Varner, Sondra Valdez (deceased), Bonnie Alvarez, Donna Jean Haga, Wilma Pitts and Connie Munoz (deceased); half-brothers, Eddie Haga, Richard “Ricky” Haga, Paul Joseph Haga (deceased) and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and loved ones from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 West Gate City Boulevard, Greensboro, NC 27407, followed by funeral services at 12:00 p.m. Anita will be laid to rest in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery, immediately following the services.
