Anne P. Gay

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church Sanctuary. Family visitation will be immediately following the service in the church solarium. The inurnment will be prior to the service.

Anne was born in Martinsville, Virginia on September 25, 1922 to the late LeRoy Prillaman and Molly Smith Draper Prillaman. She moved to Greensboro and married William Cortell "Scrappy" Gay on June 2, 1956. Anne was very active in Starmount Presbyterian Church and then First Presbyterian Church. She was also a volunteer at multiple organizations including Greensboro Urban Ministry, Cone and Wesley Long Hospitals, and Greensboro Historical Museum.

Her loving husband, “Scrappy”, her parents, two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Lee Gay Bugbee of Apex, NC; grandson, Jeremy Charles Bugbee of Lawrenceville, Georgia; and sister, Delia Prillaman Roe of Sarasota, Florida as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greensboro Urban Ministries, 305 W. Lee Street, Greensboro, NC 28406 or to the Salvation Army, 1311 S. Eugene Street, Greensboro, NC 27406 in memory of Anne Gay.
