Barbara Lee Floyd

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Well-Spring Richardson Auditorium with Dr. David Partington officiating. Family visitation will be immediately following the service. Entombment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC.

She was born in Elizabethton, TN to the late Lillard and Myrtle Saults Johnson. Barbara attended East Tennessee State University, and worked as a travel agent for AAA for twenty years.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, David Porter (Perfect) Floyd. She is survived by her daughters, Cathy Floyd McGrane of Chantilly, VA, and Amy Floyd Thornton and her husband Clay of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren Eric McGrane and his wife Jess, Erin Thornton Pearce and her husband Nick, and Kara Thornton; and great grandchildren, Caroline Pearce, Maisie McGrane, Lucy McGrane, Cooper McGrane and Ivy McGrane; and sister Faye Johnson and her husband Jim and daughters Jenny, Becky and Julie and their families.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Well-Spring Employee Appreciation Fund, 4100 Well Spring Drive, Greensboro, NC, 27410, or to the Alzheimer’s Association, National Capital Area, 3701 Pender Drive, Suite 400, Fairfax, VA, 22020, in honor of Barbara Floyd.
