Betty C. Dunn

Funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Street Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Kyles Wallace officiating.

Entombment will be at Westminster Gardens.

A native of Mooresville, NC Mrs. Dunn was formerly with Real Reel Corporation in Salisbury. She attended the Christian Women’s Association at Forest Oaks Country Club, enjoyed traveling and sailing with her husband Richard “Dick” Dunn until his death in 2006. She also organized many open houses at Forest Oaks. Mrs. Dunn had a passion and love for flowers, sweet candy, decorating and music.

One of 12 children, Mrs. Dunn was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her nine siblings. She is survived by her son Alan Safrit and wife Carmen of Oak Ridge, daughter Mitzi Brown and husband Mike of Greensboro, sisters Jane Charles of Ohio and Nancy Pernell of Statesville, grandchildren Ashley Brown of Greensboro, Brandon Safrit of Oak Ridge, great-grandchild Kadence Taylor of Greensboro.

The family wishes to thank Hazel Holloway, Thelma Duke, Lisa Spencer and Erin Shutt for the care and compassion provided to Betty during her illness.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service and at other times at the residence.
