Betty Covington Gibson

A graveside service will be held at 3 pm on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Lakeview Memorial Park, 3600 N O’Henry Blvd, Greensboro, North Carolina. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 N Elm Street, Greensboro, North Carolina.

Betty was a member of Shining Light Baptist Church. She was a lady of many talents and delighted in doing for others. She had such a giving spirit to all she met and served.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Donald Gibson; son, Donnie Ray Gibson; her parents, Pearl Covington and Flay Covington; two brothers; and five sisters.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Andrea Sells (Jason); granddaughter, Alexandria Gibson (Joe); two grandchildren, Addison Frate and Dylan Barley (Lexi); sisters, Bonnie Paschal of Yanceyville, NC, Shirley Bame of Jamestown, NC and Mary C. Johnson of Greensboro, NC.; and niece, Wanda Gail Johnson. Betty is also survived by numerous adopted grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, North Carolina 27405.
