Betty H. Wright

Betty has requested a family memorial service to be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Westminster Gardens Bell Tower Mausoleum. Family visitation will be held on Wednesday August 1, 2018 at her residence from 5:00-8:00 pm.

Betty was born in Guilford County to the late Irvin and Uldene Vermillion Hodgin. She met her husband, of seventy-one years, Robert (Bob) Wright at Western Carolina College and married him on July 18, 1943 in New London, CT. Betty adored her family and friends. She enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, dancing, gardening and traveling abroad.

Betty is survived by her son, Russ Wright (Marsha) of Greensboro; grandsons, Nick Wright (Melanie) and great granddaughter Hayden of Greensboro; Ben Wright of Asheville and Chris Wright (Crissti) of High Point; daughter, Margie W. Phipps (Jerry) of Greensboro; grandsons, Jake Phipps (Maya), great grandchildren Novella and Maddox Phipps of New York, and grandson Brent Phipps, and great grandson Carter of Wilmington, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405 in memory of Betty Wright.
