So sorry to hear of Billie's death. I first met her as a new nurse graduate at Community General Hospital in T'ville, NC. I worked at CGH for 10 years with Billie as our nurse educator. She is such a vibrant person and will be greatly missed.

It is difficult to understand how someone so full of life could be gone.  I met Billie through CSHET in the 1980's.  She was someone I always looked forward to being around during our meetings...she made everything memorable.  She talked of her family often and of riding the tandem bike. To her husband and family I am deeply sorry for your loss, praying for comfort in the days ahead.

I know during the 3 years we were working together in Memphis how fondly you spoke of her as well as the rest of your family and can only imagine how hard it is to lose her. I had the opportunity to be Billie's secretary at Thomasville for 5 years.  She was the toughest boss I ever had, but things she taught me are still instilled in me today.  I regret I cannot make it to her service, as my son is racing that day; I only wish she knew my son is racing (cycling scholarship) his way through college right now, because she would be so proud - of him and me!   She was an absolutely incredible woman of strength, a visionary and a very loving person.

I didn't know Billie personally, more from a distance.  I am from Fredericton, N.B. Canada, one of the "Maritime Provinces" and have known her husband Bill from about 1999 where we met on ICQ and e-mailed each other and also on Facebook.  He always talked about Billie and their biking and sent many great pictures and I felt I knew her.  I know he loved her very much and was devoted to her and was a happy man.  I didn't know Billie had these problems and utterly shocked when I spoke to Bill yesterday on Facebook and asked how he was and he said "Good.  I miss Billie".  I was shocked and asked "What do you mean "You miss Billie, is anything wrong?"  My computer started acting up so I phoned his home.  Renee answered and told me and I was horrified and saddened to hear the terrible news.  I just couldn't believe it.  Bill didn't feel like talking so I gave her my name and condolences.  I am so sorry for Bill and the family over this horrendous loss; she was the wife, mother and grandmother of the family and they will be quite at odds until the shock wears down and they can regroup.  I Pray God will give them strength and comfort through this very sad and unhappy time; He will give them the inner strength to bear it.  I am so glad Bill and Billie had such a long and loving marriage and my heart goes out to him and his family, from the bottom of my hear.  God Bless them.

Billie was a wonderful person, the perfect mix of sweet and sassy. She had a cutting wit but was still one of the kindest people I ever knew. I enjoyed her visits to the National MS Society office very much. She brought sunshine with every visit and I will miss her very much.

We were privileged to be Billie's classmates in Nursing School and friends with her beyond.  She will be missed.  Our condolences to the entire family.
