Billy E. Cheek Sr.

Greensboro: Billy E. Cheek, Sr., 85, died Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Moses Cone Hospital.

He was born October 22, 1925 in Guilford County to the late Benjamin Smith and Katie Myrtle Thompson Cheek. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers: Odell, Fred, Charles, Alex, Gilmer, and John Cheek and one sister, Helen Cheek Morgan.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home N. Elm Chapel. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.

He was of the protestant faith and retired from Ruth’s Salads in Charlotte, NC as the Dist. Manager and was a member of the Local and National Studebaker Drivers Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Teresa Hilliard Cheek of the home; daughter Caren Cheek Hudson and husband James of Charlotte; son, Billy Cheek, Jr. and wife Shelah of Locust, NC; two grandchildren, Sarah Anne and Laura Kay Hudson.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home on 515 N. Elm St.
