Blakely Sue Pearson, 77, of Greensboro, was reunited with her parents and siblings in Heaven on March 2, 2026. She was born in Greensboro, August 25, 1948, to the late Turner Motley and Violet Marie Price Pearson.
Funeral services for Ms. Pearson will be at 2 PM, Saturday March 7, 2026, at Northern Baptist Church, 5515 North Church Street, Greensboro, NC 27455, officiated by Pastor Ryan Crowder. Interment will follow the service at Gethsemane UMC Cemetery, 100 NC Hwy 150, Greensboro, 27455. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 PM prior to the service.
Blakely spent most of her lifetime dedicated to the care of her parents, nieces and nephews and their children. She had the biggest heart and pure kindness for all who knew her. She worked briefly outside her home for eight years in housekeeping at Moses Cone Hospital. She thoroughly enjoyed her work, was proud of her accomplishments and made many lifelong friends. Blakely was a Christian and loved her church family at Northern Baptist Church (formerly Philadelphia Baptist Church). She spoke so fondly of her church family all the way to the end of her life.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy Nelson, Jean Beasley, Sarah Sheppard, Margaret Walker, William (Bill), David, Charles and John Pearson. Her sister-in-law Iris Pearson survives along with numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Blakely’s family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living for taking such good care of her, making her feel like a part of a larger family and her time there wonderful. She was so happy there and loved everyone. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Northern Baptist Church.
