

Bobbie J. Cross passed away on August 28, 2022 at Whitestone Masonic Home. She was born on March 29, 1941 to Samuel Bartlett Cross and Della Blackwell Cross and grew up in the Ruffin and Reidsville areas, graduating from Ruffin High School. She was the youngest of six children, having been preceded in death by her brothers, Cecil Cross and Jett Cross.
Bobbie is survived by two sisters, Lucille Gardner and Maryann Farthing, and one brother, David Cross.
She was the mother of three sons; Steven Harrelson, who lives in Atlanta, and is the father of Sydnie, her granddaughter. Jeffrey Harrelson lives in Tampa, Florida with his fiancé Brieanna Everts, and Todd Harrelson and his wife Pam, who live in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
Ms. Cross worked with Plaza Associates in Raleigh, NC on leasing their retail portfolio including Crabtree Valley Mall and then relocated to Greensboro to accept the position of Director of Leasing for Koury Corporation and Four Seasons Town Center. After Koury sold the mall in 2003, she joined the Starmount Company and oversaw leasing of Friendly Shopping Center. Starmount sold their portfolio at the end of 2007 to CBL Properties and Bobbie began working there in January 2008 as the Leasing Manager for Friendly Center and Alamance Crossing in Burlington. Ms. Cross found retail real estate an interesting and challenging career and she thoroughly enjoyed it and the people she met while working in the field. Bobbie retired in 2011 after having surpassed her career expectations and remains highly respected in the commercial real estate community to this day.
A celebration of Bobbie Cross’s life and service of remembrance will be held at Christ United Methodist Church on Holden Road in Greensboro on Thursday, September 1st at 2:00 PM and Interment will be held prior to the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery in a private ceremony for family members.
